Who we are
Founded in 1988, the China National Seed Trade Association (CNSTA) is a national-level industry association. Representing the interests of the national seed industry, the Association prioritizes serving members, enterprises, and the industry as a whole. Anchored in the domestic seed industry while facing the international market, it is committed to promoting seed trade circulation and the innovative development of China’s seed industry.
Adhering to the mission of serving its members, CNSTA provides services such as training, information consulting, and seed industry expositions. It focuses on six key industry hotspots: germplasm resource exchange and utilization, plant breeding innovation, international trade circulation, plant quarantine health, intellectual property protection, and smart agriculture services. By building platforms for exchange, CNSTA facilitates the synergistic development of the domestic and international seed industries. Furthermore, the Association conducts in-depth research on topics such as the “Top 10 International Seed Companies,” seed import and export trade, and specialty crop industries, acting as a think tank for government authorities to support decision-making.
CNSTA is also a full member of the International Seed Federation (ISF) and the Asia and Pacific Seed Association (APSA). Holding a permanent seat and a significant voice on the ISF Board of Directors, CNSTA represents the Chinese seed industry and amplifies its voice internationally. In recent years, CNSTA has successfully hosted the 2005 (Shanghai) Asian Seed Congress, the 2014 (Beijing) World Seed Congress, and the 2024 (Sanya) Asian Seed Congress, continuously enhancing its international influence.
